Defense Attorney Donna Uhlmann is questioning the legality of an incident in which the Attorney General’s office seized her cell phone from courtroom 9 in the Licht Judicial Complex.

“My cell phone contains highly privileged information between myself and clients,” said Uhlmann. Uhlmann said that investigators from the Attorney General’s office seized her blackberry from her brief case while she was in a chambers conference with Superior Court Judge Bennett Gallo. Uhlmann said she is concerned about the privacy of her clients.

"The seizure was pursuant to a search warrant and is related to an ongoing investigation,” said Amy Kempe, Spokesperson for Attorney General Peter Kilmartin. “The Attorney General's office cannot comment on the nature or scope of that investigation."
